To connect to a desktop version of QuickBooks with AMG go to Payroll - Payroll Integration. Select QuickBooks Desktop and hit next.
The next screen will detail the rest of the steps to connect. If you click the Save QWC file button you will be prompted to save the file in your computer.
After you save that file, AMG should prompt you to open the QuickBooks Web Connector for you. If it did not open, you may not have the Web Connector, so you visit this page to find more information: https://developer.intuit.com/docs/01_QuickBooks_desktop/1_get_started/99_get_started_with_QuickBooks_web_connector
Please make sure your QuickBooks and the appropriate Company File are open!
When the Web Connector opens it should pop up an option for authorization, which you can click OK on. It should then prompt you to choose when to connect to QuickBooks. Choose the 'Yes, whenever this QuickBooks company file is open' option:
Then in the web connector you will need to enter in a password. This will be your Company Name as specified in AMG under Company - Organization - Company. After that is entered into the web connector you can click the checkbox on the far left and click the 'Update Selected' button.
Now if you go back to AMG you should see the following screen showing which QB version and company file the software is connected to:
If you need to map Jobs/Departments from AMG to Customers in QuickBooks you can do that here, or you can click next. AMG will then begin to Sync different info to QuickBooks. If anything does not match it will display a warning or a red X.
If you click See Details you can correct issues and sync the different items. For example, for Employees their full names must match exactly between QuickBooks and AMG. If there is anything you do not have you can import from/export to QuickBooks.
NOTE: Synchronization is bidirectional for all items except for Company info, which is synchronized only from QuickBooks to AMGtime.
Before synchronization, if there are items available both in AMGtime and QuickBooks systems, then from Synchronization direction drop-down list those items should be synchronized from QuickBooks to AMGtime, or vice versa, should be selected. Once you have cleared up any of the errors on the sync page you can hit next to begin exporting timecard data to QuickBooks.
